This year’s campaign reinforces these skills but also places importance on the willingness of bystanders to act in a cardiac arrest emergency. Did you know about 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes? If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love. Be the difference for your parent, spouse, or child. What if it were them?
There are two easy steps to Hands-Only CPR:
1. Call 911
2. Push hard and fast (to the beat of the song “Stayin’ Alive”) in the center of the chest until help arrives.
We’re pleased to support the American Heart Association and its important mission to increase survival from cardiac arrest. You are encouraged to take 90 seconds of your day to learn the lifesaving skills of Hands-Only CPR. Visit the Hands-Only CPR page on the American Heart Association website (Heart.org) to watch the video and learn the two simple steps that could save a life. For more information, call 936-637-8523.
