The fourth Texas-based Altus Emergency Center officially opens its doors today, July 1. The new Lufkin emergency center is located off Highway 59 at 501 N. Brentwood Drive in front of Sam’s Club.  The new state-of-the-art facility follows successful Altus Emergency Centers in Baytown, Lake Jackson and Lumberton. A fifth location in Waxahachie was announced earlier this year with an anticipated Winter opening.

The Lufkin facility is approximately 9,500 square feet and provides a full range of emergency care, including X- rays, 16 slice CT scanner, ultrasounds and a full-service diagnostic lab – staffed with approximately 20 full-time, Lufkin-area employees.

According to their website, the Pearland based Altus Health was established in 2004 by a network of vested, forward-thinking physicians dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care at the most affordable cost. Since its inception, Altus Health has grown to a network of more than 1,600 physicians with facilities across Texas and Nevada that include a surgical hospital, surgical centers, cancer centers, imaging centers, sleep centers, inpatient and outpatient hospice care and freestanding emergency centers. Altus Health continues to push the frontier of healthcare services by developing innovative solutions for physicians, patients and communities. For more information, visit www.altushealthsystem.com.
